Local Politics

The Queens Park ward is represented by three councillors on Bournemouth Borough Council. The 2003 elections returned three Liberal Democrat councillors. The political representation was dramatically changed in 2007 when two of the seats were won by Conservatives.

The situation remained unchanged after a cliff-hanger double recount in May 2011 when Lib Dem Carol Ainge beat off a challenge from former tory leader Stephen MacLoughlin by just two votes. And the two sitting Conservative candidates each got exactly the same number of votes!!! Click here for full results.
