Friends of Winton Recreation Ground
This group of local people was formed to enhance
and conserve Winton Recreation Ground for the enjoyment and well
being of the community. It works in partnership with Bournemouth
Borough Council.
You can be a member.
- Membership is open to individuals (households) and organisations.
- Membership entitles voting rights at meetings.
- Members must actively seek to represent the various needs
of the area, and must not discriminate on the grounds of race,
colour, ethnic or national origin or because of gender, disability
or health (including HIV+ status), sensory or speech impairment,
age, sexual orientation, religion, political party or marital
status.
- The annual membership fee/subscription is decided at an Annual
General Meeting.
The current main objectives of the Friends of Winton
Recreation Ground are to get maximum community use for the pavilion
and to enhance and protect the park.
The subscription is very modest and does give you
a voice in deciding the future of an amenity which is much loved
locally and was recently saved from partial development as a velodrome.
It also gives you access to certain facilities.
