The Parade

This 2011 parade, as ever, featured a large number of walkers, performers and floats together a variety of marching bands.

The action started at around 10.45 in Wimborne Road with the inimitable Bournemouth Carnival Band. Joyously unpredictable, they may or may not march in a straight line - but they are absolutely guaranteed to raise a laugh and put you in good spirits for the rest of the day.

The parade made its way down Wimborne Road until it turned into Cardigan Road.

At the end of Cardigan Road it crossed into Maxwell Road and continued on, crossing Heron Court Road, until it ended at Linwood Road.

At this point any vehicles continue on and leave the procession. Riders on floats dismount in Linwood Road. A "walking" procession then continues on the footpath that circles the cricket pitch at Winton Recreation Ground and comes to a conclusion in front of the Stage.

The procession takes approximately 45 minutes to complete its route.
