In November 2016, five residents of Winton came together over some red wine and nibbles, to discuss the possibility of creating a Neighbourhood Plan for Winton.
What is a Neighbourhood Plan?
A Neighbourhood Plan allows communities to have their say on what gets built and what changes in their local area. It does this by feeding into Local Plan and Policy and allows communities to shape the nature and location of new development and what it will look like.
How can you get involved?
Your local neighbourhood forum ‘Winton Forum’ is gong to support and help communicate the project until it is ready to spread it’s wings . The Forum would love your support for this project! The current project group consists of a Photographer, an Urban Planner, a Lighting Designer, an Upholsterer and a Councillor (so a creative bunch!). We need 21 members to create a Neighbourhood Plan. The new members might be a resident of Winton, they may run a shop or have a business based in Winton. Any previous experience in planning or law or council workings would be a bonus. The members will meet periodically throughout the year and discuss ways to take the Plan forward. Although the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan will need to fulfil a series of stages before the final document is produced and agreed each individual can bring their ideas and expertise into the Plan.
I’m interested and I’d like to find out more…
If you are interested in finding out more, please come to the next public Winton Forum Meeting at St Lukes School (junior site – via Luther road entrance) Tuesday 21st March at 7pm or email Stuart Lane firstname.lastname@example.org
